Where in the world is Rowan Williams?

A former Canadian bishop is leaving the ACC for the Southern Cone, and the current copyright holder is all in a tizzy.
We call upon the Archbishop of Canterbury to make clear that such actions are not a valid expression of Anglicanism and are in contravention of the ancient and continuing traditions of the Church.
Good luck, mate. Join the ever-growing queue of people waiting in vain for the Archbishop of Canterbury to "make clear" anything at all. As his church whirls about in a centrifuge, he's cowering under a bed somewhere in Lambeth Palace, trying to avoid being hit by flying debris.

Maybe the Anglicans could institute a new feast in the calendar: Episcopal Groundhog Day.
Anglicans from all over the world gather annually outside Lambeth Palace on this day. Everyone watches anxiously, to see if the Archbishop of Canterbury will poke his furry, bewhiskered face out from under the covers on this day. If he sees his shadow, he'll be frightened by it and dart back inside, and we'll have another 6 weeks of chaos.

"They aggravate the current tensions in the Anglican Communion."

OK, that one's too dumb even to laugh at...

You'd think they'd proof their documents to be sure they could pass the laugh test, wouldn't you? I especially love the "contravention of the ancient and continuing traditions of the Church" bit...

This statement is key. We (the Common Cause partners)are moving sideways - to a different branch of Anglicanism in communion with Canterbury. Thus, we remain Anglican, and this is infuriating the liberals, because they cannot then dismiss us as simply schismatic. I do think you are being a bit hard on +++Cantuar, though. We don't know what is going on behind the scenes, do we?

With all respect, Mrs. Falstaff, I've been waiting for four years for the genius of Rowan Williams to burst forth from the dark recesses where it lay and slay this dragon with one brilliant stroke. If there were any such skillful machinations going on under the radar, we'd be seeing a soothing of tensions. Instead, parishes depart almost daily, entire dioceses are at the brink of separation, lawsuits are filed with abandon and provinces openly declare their loathing of others.

Perhaps not. I can't help but think about how people were complaining about the Network, when I knew something of all the work that was going on behind the scenes, though.

And just who actually believes +Harvey to be a conservative, orthodox Anglican? This is the man who almost single handedly brought an order into the Church in his diocese of female ministers! This is the man who elevated a twice-divorced priest top an archdeaconry! This is a man who is pro-choice in the abortion issue! This is the man who, faced with a gay priest in his diocese, not only permitted him to continue as a parish priest, but as a regional dean! Will somebody please tell me again about this wonderful "orthodox" bishop???
