Whoot-na, Jimmy-boy!
As Captain Yips informs us, casting is underway for the new Star Trek movie, this one to be set during Kirk's days at the Academy. I don't know if we'll get to see a new Finnegan, but here's MST3K's take on the character. One of my favourite host segments, from "The Thing That Couldn't Die".

Sad to say, I remember that MST clip well and you have finally explained what it was all about - I was never a big ST:TOS fan so didn't know who Finnegan was.
Poor old Mike, getting beat up on nonstop. It's even funnier remembering what a 98-pound weakling type Paul(the guy who played Finnegan) was; in real life he would have lasted about 15 seconds in any sort of bare-knuckles fight. Strike that, in any sort of fight, period.
I always wondered just what the Emperor Hadrian was saying as he pummelled Mike. It sounds like real Latin to me, but I can't make any sense of it.
