New bishop

The Anglican Diocese of Ottawa has a new bishop, the Very Rev. John Chapman. The Citizen article is very basic, but The Hairy Eyeball has more. Another liberal, from the looks of it, and a fan of that long-running vaudeville act, The Jesus Seminar. I don't expect this will change much in Ottawa, though he does say that he thinks that the membership loss has "bottomed out", which I very much doubt, but time will tell.

My parish is growing - but we hold to the Bible, so I guess we don't count. Oops, did I say that?

Ah well. There is hope for biblically faithful Anglicans in Canada, you know. If you google Anglican Network in Canada you will see what I mean.

"I think we're moving into an exciting time,"

Didn't Saddam say that about four years and a week ago?

That is such a great quote that I gotta use it again.

I suppose there are some who think that being tossed from the Anglican Communion will be exciting.

I don't think it is the orthodox North American Anglicans who are going to get tossed from the Anglican Communion.....
