Canadian Gaffes and Practical Amusements

As SCTV demonstrated, most Canadian "gaffes" are on the lame side, but this one actually is funny. This is the leader of the NDP addressing the Prime Minister in Question Period yesterday. (I'll bet you Mr. Bush doesn't often have to put up with unscripted moments like this.)

LOL. Layton always reminds me of Vladimir Lenin. Harper really has a much better sense of humor than he's given credit for - that was a great comeback.

Jack Layton and Vladimir Lenin were separated at birth. Seriously, look at him.

On the other hand, is Stephane Dion Stephen Harper's evil twin?

Kasia, you clearly didn't see Harper on Rick Mercer recently. He absolutely played along, and was very funny.

Quite right that I missed that Mercer. You know what my television situation is.

(For those of you who don't know what my television situation is, my reception is nil and I refuse to pay for cable. So unless I'm at someone else's house, the TV is only for playing DVDs and videos. And for the cats to sit on.)

That said, I do remember that during the elections Harper said he became an economist because he didn't have the personality to be an accountant...
